Is anyone else seeing strange behavior in Mac OS X 10.4.5 (PPC),

Yep. I reported it a few weeks ago, and Apple said it's a known
problem. In addition to seeing it with Monaco in Xcode, I opened an
just-updated Excel file yesterday that we do our monthly expense
reports on (the *only* time I use Excel). About 5% of the cells
looked fine, but the rest looked like the font was severely squished
horizontally. I figured some bean counter chose some goofy font that
they think looks good on Windoze, but when I checked, it was Arial
Regular 10pt. ALL the glyphs were drawing weird, not just a few like
the Monaco problem. I get the feeling that 10.4.5 messed up something
in the glyph reading or rendering code. Smells like an uninitialized
variable to me.
