Whenever I create a new XCode project, in addition to creating an
English.lproj subfolder, I get Japanese.lproj, complete with

Any idea why it's doing this?
The project template that you are using (/Library/Application
Support/Apple/Developer Tools/Project Templates/...) contains a
Japanese.lproj
folder. New projects are just patched up copies of the templates
found in your
system/local Project Templates folder.
If you want something different, you can create your own templates
Right, but I think the question is really, why did something at
Apple think
it was a good idea to include Japanese.lproj in the template? That, at
least, is the question I'd like to have answered. m.
Because Xcode is localized in Japanese.
