Downloading XCode 2.4

I have been to http://developer.apple.com/tools/xcode/ to find XCode v. 2.4 and discovered that ot is in a 915 MB file. I use a dial-up modem and at it's very best would need 2745 minutes or 47.75 hours, just under 2 days, to download this file. That is one problem, however a greater problem is that the Internet Connect application on my Mac disconnects after 12 hours, no exception allowed and any download that is in progress is lost.
Could this, please, be made available in smaller pieces?
