Anyone, even someone who doesn't even have a Mac and is just an
evil PC user, could create an account with Apple, and download
Xcode 2.5.
Unless the NDAs are signed in person on paper, you have proof that
the individuals name and address are correct, and a few other basic
security checks are taken, I wouldn't really value the "NDA".
Why do people keep going on about this? Apple is a big corporation
and big corporations tend to have policies in place that govern what
they do, or in this case, what others are allowed to do. Sometimes
the policies don't seem quite appropriate for a given situation, as
may be the case here, but that's just how it goes at times. Many of
the policies are possibly in place solely to protect them against
frivolous lawsuits. You don't have to have a valid case to sue
someone. Any offense -- real or imagined -- will do.
Frankly, I'm kind of amused at the arrogance displayed when non-legal
people think they understand every legal ramification of a policy
like this.
Also, apparantly iTunes has an agreement that you musnt't use
iTunes for terrorism, or creating nuclear or biological weapons of
mass destruction.
Oh, *now* you tell me. LOL
Something gives me the idea that Apple are being just a little bit
ridiculous with their electronic agreements.
I understand the temptation to think that, but at the same time we've
seen court cases based on what seem to most people to be equally
stupid concepts.
