Thanks Jon, at least I know I'm not missing anything. Until it's fixed I'll just create a dummy text project with everything hooked up and copy it whenever I need to test out different new features on a vanilla text view.

Unfortunately Keith, this was an oversight on our part and we already
have a bug tracking it.
For now you'll have to connect the menu items manually -
