Um. I'll have to go ahead & disagree on that.
(it smells like a bit of revisionist history)
As someone who spent all of the 90's writing Quark XTensions,
Photoshop and InDesign Plug-ins, QuickTime vdigs, along with a slew
of custom plug-ins; with the exception of
_the_very_last_one_or_two_releases_, Codewarrior was the end-all, be-
all plug-in debugger.
It was quite miraculous seeing that breakpoint in an XTension hit for
the very first time, LIVE within Quark XPress, whereas prior, in
Think C, horrible gyrations were necessary.
It was also quite phenominal that both Mac & Win32 plug-ins could be
developed with the same Codewarrior project, with a huge majority of
shared code, spitting out both PPC & x86 plug-ins.
Perhaps there was some confusion over A4/A5 issues, or some other
plug-in detail, but Codewarrior truly was a joy to work with in those
days, and never hiccuped for me or any of my associates.
But I do agree, the beginning of the end was the Mac OS X support,
around 10.2.. Integrating with GDB wasn't its strong suit.
