Hi, I have come across a very strange problem concerning Xcode:

When I try to open a project, I get about 2 seconds of bliss, and then comes the spinning beach ball of death for around 2 minutes (give or take 10 seconds). After the said 2 minutes, the beach ball subsides and I can begin working like normal.

Do you use distributed builds? Do you also have more than one IP address set up on any of your network interfaces? This sounds similar to a problem I occasionally had on my G5 with distributed builds enabled, and the solution I hit upon was to disable the extra IP addresses in the system network preferences and then open the Xcode project.

P.S. Someone else wished for memtest86 to be ported to OS X. There's an equivalent available at <http://www.memtestosx.org/>.
