I certainly don't have the .r file opened anywhere else that I know of, but I can re-check that. All this sounds like it might be possible to work around some how. I'll keep trying as much as possible and maybe come up with something. I'm happy to provide full build "transcripts". Is this the build log you're talking about?

It's usually encountered when invoking multiple copies of Rez
simultaneously but could theoretically happen any time that some other
process opens a file Rez is reading it.

Does it only happen when the file is opened *while* Rez is already reading
it, or can it happen if Rez is reading a file that's already open elsewhere?
