Ok, after some prodding and looking over some plugs I wrote, I embarrassingly confused one of my PhotoShop plugins for one of my InDesign plugs.
The information I spewed below is correct for PhotoShop but not InDesign as Alexey pointed out to me both here and off list; he forced me to verify the InDesign plug architecture and it is in fact mach-o...
Sorry for the misinformation, I'll learn to read eventually.
