G4 867mhz, Leopard, and XCode 3

I tried searching the archives but must not have used the correct queries....

In Jun/July I will be replacing my 2001 Quicksilver 867mhz with a new Mac Pro.

But until then I am wondering about buying Leopard for my present G4 just to get a head start. It has 1.12GB RAM and loads of HD, and GEForce2 TwinView video card.

My questions (0) Is anyone using a similar config for development under Leopard and Xcode 3? (1) How is the experience? (2) Any caveats?
