I don't know about the two books you mentioned, but thought I'd add that
if you are a Safari subscriber, you can get the book Xcode 3 Unleashed
as a pre-publication "rough cut" online. I've started reading it and so
far have found it useful.
The second edition of the Hillegass book is available on Safari, so I
imagine that the third edition will show up soon after, or right about
the time of, its paper release. (I'm not sure that publisher does many
pre-pubs on Safari.) Unfortunately, I also don't know why it has not
been published/released, yet.
I have stopped buying dead tree editions of programming/computer books
since getting a Safari Library subscription.
