I did a "Run -> Start with Performance Tool -> Object Allocations" to make a quick check. Now I can find no way to cancel the operation -- i.e., keep Instruments from opening whenever I launch a Debugger Build and Go. I only want to check the object allocations every now&then and I need to cancel the Performance Tool activation. Help, this is driving me nuts.

In the Xcode language "Go" mean run using the last used settings, in your case "Performance Tools".

Check the Run Menu and use any other command (Run, Debug, etc…)
