That said, it worked in Xcode for some time. I didn't check out a
new copy but potentially installed a new version of svn via macports.
Subversion 1.4 is what's installed by Mac OS X, and is what is used by
Xcode -- through the Subversion API, not by running the command-line
tool and parsing its output.
Subversion 1.5 you had to have installed yourself somehow.
The release notes for Subversion 1.5 prominently state that if you use
it with a working copy, that working copy will be upgraded to 1.5 and
will be unusable with Subversion 1.4.
