Subversion 1.4 is what's installed by Mac OS X, and is what is used
by Xcode -- through the Subversion API, not by running the command-

Subversion 1.5 you had to have installed yourself somehow.
That would have been via macports.
$ which svn
/opt/local/bin/svn
The release notes for Subversion 1.5 prominently state that if you
use it with a working copy, that working copy will be upgraded to
1.5 and will be unusable with Subversion 1.4.
So it does. I also should have read that. I don't generally assume
incompatibilities when the minor version changes.
