Project templates

  • Thread-topic: Project templates

I've been trying to find in the Xcode documentation where things like «FULLUSERNAME», etc. are defined, but I haven't been able to find them in the Xcode 3 docs; am I blind, or are they missing? (for those of you wondering what I'm talking about, see http://www.cocoadev.com/index.pl?XcodeProjectTemplates )

The greater question is, are they going away? Is there another, more modern mechanism that I'm supposed to be using in their place? Note that I NEED the dynamic variables, not just rubber stamp ones like for __MyCompany__.

While I'm at it... how do I prevent new Xcode installs from clobbering my carefully crafted file/project templates? Everytime I upgrade, I waste about half day adding my templates back in (and I usually miss a few in the process)

Thanks,
Cem Karan
