With Xcode 3.0 and later you can move around the "Xcode directory" (which is /Developer by default) and even have the tools installed on to a separate volume. However, you can't move any tools or applications around that live inside the Xcode directory heirarchy.

The developer tools are a little special and most of them could not be moved (as you see).
move Xcode in it's original place (/Developper/Applications/) and it will work.

Late last week I started having trouble running xcode. I get the following problem report when I attempt to start it.

Dyld Error Message:
Library not loaded: @rpath/DevToolsFoundation.framework/Versions/A/ DevToolsFoundation
Referenced from: /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/MacOS/Xcode
Reason: image not found

It had worked up until late last week. There is a library with that name in

"/Developer/Library/PrivateFrameworks/DevToolsFoundation.framework/ Versions/A/DevToolsFoundation"

I assume it's the right library??? I've reinstalled leopard and xcode 3.0 without solving the issue. (on my MBP)

I'm a new MAC user, any insight into this problem would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,
      ray
