I usually have success in loading my own app on my iPhone for testing, but all too often I get an alert,

"Your mobile device has encountered an unexpected error (0xE8000001) during the install phase: Copying file.
Try disconnecting and powering off the device; then power the device on and reconnect it."

Of course I follow instructions and reboot it, but it does no good. This morning I am failing 100% to load the app.

any ideas?

thanks,

David

1. Rebooting the device should fix this.

What does rebooting the device mean? I turn it off and back on using the switch on the top (I have a new iPod touch). Does that reboot it?

2. To Avoid it happening at all always eject your ipod with itunes.

I don't often disconnect it at all.

As long as I do that I no longer have this happen a few times a week.

The thing is that everything else on the device works OK. All the apps on it still work. The only error is from Xcode.
