With which version of Xcode are you running into this?

In Xcode 3.0 and later, the debugger should be using a project's Active Architecture to decide what architecture to run.

Is that what that "active architecture" setting does? I was wondering about that. It does tend to prefer 32-bit architectures over 64-bit ones in my experience, though.

Not like it really matters, since I can't get X86-64 Cocoa applications to run correctly in the debugger. :( I can't get the debugger to step into ObjC messages, and then sometimes things start breaking in odd places in the runtime. It works with command line apps, and used to work in Xcode 3.0.
