Project Won't Let Me Add dylibs from /usr/lib

  • Subject: Project Won't Let Me Add dylibs from /usr/lib

Hi Xcode users mailing list,

When attempting to Project->Add->Existing Files - the navigation dialog presented will not let me point at the "/usr/lib" directory - even if I type that path into the SEARCH field.

Evidently, this used to be a functional feature of Xcode - as I have seen several examples from 2008 that seem to perform this activity.

The OpenSSL dylibs I am referring to come standard with MacOSX and I have no need for them to be in a non-standard location.

Can anyone enlighten me as to what is the suggested way to add dylibs from the "/usr/lib" folder to the Linked Frameworks area of my Cocoa project?

'Googling' for an answer did not help - and, from the Xcode Help docs, it's not clear (to me) how to add dylibs to the project which cannot be accessed by the standard file dialog presented by way of the ADD menu options.

Thank You!

Lance Drake
