Well, it's not quite off-topic, since Xcode is providing the UI, a lot
of the hidden mechanics, and the fundamental workflows. It's more like
the intersection of two topics.
If I set up as described by Jack Repenning (which sounds very good,
and
I'll follow in the future), is it a good idea to keep the current
working
version in the ~/src/Whatever directory, or discard this and check
out a
new one every time I get back to working on the project?
The idea is you can keep that working copy around, and merely update
it as appropriate. You certainly can toss the WC and re-check out
later, but it will take longer and put more load on your server than
just updating. As Quincey points out, of course, if you need the
space, you certainly can toss it (after checking one more time to be
sure everything's checked in!).
