Controlling window size?

First, thanks to everyone for their excellent support on this list!

Second, I have a nice big monitor, but when XCode opens a new window, it wants to spread out and take over the whole screen, hiding the windows underneath, and leaving 6 or 7 inches of white space on the right hand side.

I'd rather my windows took up less width, and allow me to have a standard size that they'll open to, then I can write my code so it fits nicely and not have all this screen clutter.

So, is there a default window size setting somewhere?

Thanks,
