SOLVED: Strange inheritance?

Thank you all for your help. As I expected, the problem was mine. I said I was probably crazy -- definitely! Add being an idiot, as well. Your kind help forced me to look at the problem more carefully and discover what I should have seen right at the beginning.

The problem was that Func1 was declared const in Base, but was not labeled const in Sub1. So the compiler was doing EXACTLY the right thing. DUMB!!

Please accept my apology for wasting your time on this.
