Does anyone know if Apple re-open a bug report that they closed if you Append New Information?
Today, I tried this solution and it did not work. Xcode had been running for only 2 days, and had 28 searches. It was taking 33 seconds to do a Project Find. I deleted the 28 Find Resultss as described, repeated Project Find, but still 33 seconds.
So I did the Project Find again, this time doing a 'heap' command, 'top' command and "Object Graph" using Instruments, as requested by Joar Winfgors in message in this thread dated Feb 16. With the Object Graph template running, the search took 8 minutes. My computer was slowed way down, and after I clicked "Stop" in Instruments, it to an hour or to process the results. I'm not sure of the time because I went outside to work on my bicycle and checked on it occasionally. Finally, when it started responding and I clicked "Save" in Instruments, it started spinning again, for another several minutes, and then Instruments crashed.
After this, I closed the project, re-opened and repeated the Project Find. Result: 35 seconds.
After this, I relaunched Xcode, re-opened project and then repeated Project Find: Result 7 seconds.
So I added this information to my Bug Report along with the 'heap' and 'top' outputs. I hope someone there can use the information.
