The difference, obviously, is the application ID you entered.
When you say you "obtained a bundle identifier from Apple," do you mean that you went to the portal, gave your bundle ID to the Application IDs panel, got back your bundle ID with a hex component prepended, and pasted _that_ into your bundle ID?
I am not aware of any case in which you handle that prepended component, ever, unless you are sharing keychain access. Roll back to your original bundle identifier, and everything, from debugging through App Store submission, should work.
