Fritz,

Yes, what I mean is that the app was working fine, so I decided it was time to look into provisioning, etc. Went to the portal, followed the instructions for obtaining a bundle ID, got it back with the hex prepended, pasted it into the bundle ID, and that broke the app.
But the wording of your question raises a point: when I created the bundle ID at the portal I also changed the latter part of it: the com.mycompany.productname part. That had previously contained some default text from the initial file created by XCode, and I had fiddled with that a bit. Now I'm thinking that maybe changing that was the critical error. The question is: is there any way to fix it? The bundle ID previously in place would not be suitable.
I've tried deleting the entire build folder. But there is probably a reference to that old bundle i.d. somewhere in the project that is causing this.

	Jeff

The difference, obviously, is the application ID you entered.

When you say you "obtained a bundle identifier from Apple," do you mean that you went to the portal, gave your bundle ID to the Application IDs panel, got back your bundle ID with a hex component prepended, and pasted _that_ into your bundle ID?

I am not aware of any case in which you handle that prepended component, ever, unless you are sharing keychain access. Roll back to your original bundle identifier, and everything, from debugging through App Store submission, should work.
