There is a pull-down menu under the toolbar area. The area contains
"Contains, Prefix, Exact, x of n Doc Sets, and language selector, if you
use Xcode 3.x.

I am so glad you pointed me to this. I have simply overseen this whole item bar in years. Blinkered in my work. ;-)
