Yes, and in my analogy, you are not the homeowner, merely the
occupier. And your analogy is a bad one for precisely the reason you
pointed out: reincarnation does not exist, whereas in order to be
analogous with the Xcode 3 / Xcode 4 situation, it would have to.

It did, you just didn't understand it.

Or you could contact the manufacturer of PT2 to try to get the issues
sorted out *BEFORE* your PT1 breaks and you find you have to buy a PT2
rather the PT2.1 that might have existed if you had explained to the
manufacturer what was wrong with PT2.0.

This will be my last word in trying to explain this to you. You can
lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.
