Feh... This user knows what he needs. And what works for you may not work
for me. That is why there will never be "one true way" that works for
everyone in every situation. Software that forces its version of the
"one true way" upon the user is bad for users that find it is less of a
help and more of a hindrance.

No, I will not give it credit because it broke the rule that I thought
designers of "integrated software" learned in the early 80s... applications
do not exist in a vacuum. This user wants his tools to work together. A
tool that takes up 90% of my screen leaves no space for other tools. When I
write code it is not unusual to have a pdf file open in preview, an
email message open in mail.app, and a browser window open in addition
to my code editor, debugger, etc. I need to see many of those items
at the same time. I already find it annoying that I'm forced to keep the
key window on top, leading to unnecessary clicks.
Any application that makes it hard to arrange my windows for my current
task and keep that arrangement is an application that gets cursed, not
praised.
