Would definitely agree. My impression from the original poster was that the 'bug' report was just left open with no feedback, if the answer was no then it would be great to have the bug closed as 'we thought about it and it doesn't fit our design philosophy', at least it's clear where it went.
Since you marked the thread OT my other pet peeve about bug reporter is when a bug is marked a dupe and you don't get to see the original nor be told what its status is and never know when the original bug is closed. Developers are encouraged to file bugs even if they are sure they are dupes, it would be awfully nice to know when your duped bug was closed. _______________________________________________
