At the risk of falling off-topic: I think it’s very worthwhile as a developer to get comfortable with command-lines. I’d be the last person to disparage GUIs (I don’t use a terminal-based editor like vi or emacs unless forced to) but shells and shell-based tools can really help you out and speed up your job. Learning them is part of broadening your skill-set, just like learning new languages and APIs.
That said, have you tried GitX? It’s a good complement to Xcode’s Git support, especially the forked GitX with more features:
