That doesn't do anything.  For me, anyway.  The Launchpad icon darkens and there's no NSBeep or similar to indicate a failed drop, but the icons just don't appear within Launchpad.

Oh, and some time in-between when I wrote my last email on this thread, and now, Spotlight has picked up the aliases I put into /Applications.  So evidently that does work, it just might take a while.
