I was trying to install Mac Ports but kept getting an error saying something like 'Cannot install Mac Ports on this computer. Xcode is not install, or was installed with Unix Development (10.5_) or Command ... not installed.' I tried reinstalling Xcode but of course you can't do that with a current version installed. So I decided to start over and tried to remove Xcode via the following command
sudo /Developer/Library/uninstall-developer-folder --mode=all;
Some of Xcode remained so I manually deleted the folders (but didn't yet empty the trash). Tried re-installing Xcode from the download but the installer tells me Xcode is already installed and to just do an update via the Apple menu. No dice. So I emptied the trash and tried again. Nope, same error (Xcode already installed). How can I re-install Xcode with the necessary options so I can also install Mac Ports?
TIA
