Xcode is not install, or was installed with Unix Development (10.5_) or Command ... not installed.' I tried reinstalling Xcode but of course you can't do that with a current version installed. So I decided to start over and tried to remove Xcode via the following command
sudo /Developer/Library/uninstall-developer-folder --mode=all;
Some of Xcode remained so I manually deleted the folders (but didn't yet empty the trash). Tried re-installing Xcode from the download but the installer tells me Xcode is already installed and to just do an update via the Apple menu. No dice. So I emptied the trash and tried again. Nope, same error (Xcode already installed). How can I re-install Xcode with the necessary options so I can also install Mac Ports? TIA
Installing Xcode from the Mac App Store installs the *installer* for Xcode -- not Xcode itself. You need to run "Install Xcode" (what was installed by the MAS) in order to *actually* install Xcode.
