This is a known bug. To workaround it, make sure you select the view you want to pin in the canvas (not the outline view). If it is hard to select, hold Option-Shift and then click. That will bring up a menu of everything under the mouse. You can then select the view from the menu. At this point, the Pin menu should have the "Bottom Space to Superview" menu item enabled.
