When I use the command line to verify the installer's signature, it reports no error.

The installer package was created using Packages 1.1.

What could account for an isolated failure like this, when other installations using the same installer package encounter no difficulty?

The user may have to install this update: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1512

That's Installer Update 1.0. The document says it's for Mac OS X 10.6.8, but my user is running 10.7.4.

Has the user "un-trusted" certain system certificates (Comodo) on the failing machine?
