I just got a request to deploy a beta of our app to a guy on the
other side of the planet.
Naturally, it now appears that iTunes doesn't display the 40 digit
code that I would need to provision the device for him through the
developer provisioning portal, and Apple's docs that say "use Xcode
to get the 40 digit id" are not helpful since the guy is on the
other side of the planet.
I've tried making an IPA for Ad-Hoc delivery by clicking Share, and
saving as a app.ipa and as an enterprise app.ipa, hoping that iTunes
would handle the sync to a device that never has run our app before,
but the app "failed to install".
Is it all possible to email an ipa and have iTunes sync the
executable to a device that has not been provisioned yet or are we
wishing for something that can't happen?
TIA,
