Couldn't agree more.

That's akin to a software project when a QA engineer reports a bug and the developer says "well, it works on my machine".

For shipping products, functionality has to be balanced with predictability, usability, and stability.

Case in point is the Xcode iOS Discovery setting of Support Wirelessly Connected Devices.

Does it work reliably and predictably to build and deliver iOS apps to wirelessly connected devices?  I couldn't get it to work at all and the devices appear only intermittently.

Is it critical functionality?  No.  I mean, thankfully not.  It's a nice to have IF it works stably and predictably.

Should the product ship with this functionality no where near being fully baked?  Expletive NO.
