You can compile individual source files as either ARC / MRR by passing the appropriate compiler flags per file. You can specify per-file compiler files in:

Project Editor > Target > Compile Phases > Compile Sources > Foo.m

My Xcode 4.5.1 has ...Target > Build Phases > Compile Sources > Foo.m
And what might the appropriate compiler flags be?

And what is MRR? Wikipedia suggest Mean reciprocal rank, Modulating retro-reflector, Material removal rate - but I am not convinced that any of these is really appropriate here.

And might I infer from your answer that there is no way to use Xcode → Edit → Refactor → Convert to Objectiv-C ARC just for one file (not a whole target)?

Is it possible to convert just a single file  (with Xcode doing the necessary changes for me) to Arc (not a whole target)?
