Yes iphone5 is armv7s and required new version of Xcode.

Simple YES it is required to have the latest version of Xcode to build for iphone5

If syntax-aware indenting is broken, deleting derived data probably won't help. It may indeed be some weird, random character in the file, perhaps inconsistent line ending characters. Please file a bug, including the file where you're seeing the problem.
