Hi,
I finally got to the bottom of this!
The version of XCode on this machine was downloaded via the Mac App Store Application. XCode 5.0 was installed initially and on 15th of March I installed the 5.1 update. However, at the time, I didn’t need iOS 7.1 as I was working on some Mac stuff and didn’t need to link against 10.8 SDK.
I have 4 Disk Drives on this machine, a boot volume and 3 RAIDed volumes. When I looked at XCode in the /Application volume it said 5.0! However, in the Mac App Store it says it is up to date and there are no updates, so obviosuly the App Store Applicaion doesn’t actually check that it *is* installed /Applications.
I think searched all drives for file name containing XCode of kind App and there were two! One in /Applicaions and one in a folder called “Backup” on the RAID Drive. When I looked in the Backup folder, there were a whole bunch of other Applcations in there too!
One thing that *might* have something to do with this is, I download/purchased a Mac game called “Baldur’s Gate” on the same day. I’m having problems trying to update BG. The reason I say this is because in the “Backup” folder, there are a few .zip files for BG.
Anyway, my solution was to manually delete XCode 5.0 from /Applications and copy 5.1 from the “Backup” Folder into /Applcations which seems to wok.
Thanks to everyone that tried to help!
Cheers
Dave
