With XCode being more-or-less free, how can anyone else compete? Basically you have a no-so-good app that costs next to nothing verses something that would cost around $500 per annum.
But even if someone did produce a viable app, they be at the mercy of Apple and if don’t want to play ball then its game-abandoned.
I think Dave is talking about Xcode 4+. Xcode 3.2.6 pretty much got it right. No one knows why such a successful design was abandoned without notice. -Carl
