Let me just stick in one possibly irrelevant comment, in response to all these complaints about XCode.

I've programmed for Mac and Windows and now IOS for many years, beginning with MacAsm (!!).
I like XCode, particularly the recent versions. I prefer it to Visual C++, to say nothing of older systems like Metrowerks. I don't think there is any serious problem here for development; we can rejoice and be merry.
