Version numbers weren't changed. Which version number is displayed
(the X11 release version versus the xorg-server release version) was.

Ok - this reply may have been too hasty - I am sure that fink will

a way to work around the version number change.
I just do not like changes such as this. Assuming that noone is
going to
parse version output does not make sense. Jumping backwards from
7.x to
1.x similarly.
I did not think that darwin versions going from 1.x to 5.x was
good, but
at least that was still an increase :-)
Not something worth fighting about though.
