You are a perfect example of what concerns me about people coming

I've always known that it is "supposed" to be the "Command" key. I
also know that few other people know that or care.
I've been writing Mac software for 20 years now. I was using
ProjectBuilder on my old B&W 300 with MacOS X beta (which was plenty
fast by the way). Don't assume that just because I showed up on this
list two weeks ago that I'm new. I just so happen to have written
Unix and Windows software for 20 years as well.
I've only recently been able to work full-time on my Mac. I would
like to be able to learn new things about Xcode from this list. In
return, I can contribute scripts and knowledge I've gained from other
platforms. But I'm not going to waste any more time with complaints.
I would much rather be programming.
From my point of view, Xcode about as close as you're going to get
to developer's nirvana. GDB needs improvement, to be sure. But the
rest of it? Don't like IB? Try Motif or MFC. Don't like FileMerge?
Try diff. Think Xcode is a serious impediment to your software
development? Try Rational Rose!
My biggest struggle these days is time management. While I've learned
a couple of things about FileMerge that will help me, this particular
thread has outlived its usefulness. I'll go back to lurking until I
can contribute something useful.
