This is a perfect example of why it's a shame Apple ever put the
Apple logo on the Command key. People are now confused over the name
of this key.
The original Mac keyboard only had the Command symbol. IIRC, the
Apple logo was added when ADB keyboards were introduced, because they
could also be used with a IIgs, which had its own Mac-like UI but
used the Apple logo instead of the Command symbol. So, they put both
the Command symbol and the Apple logo on them.
Since the IIgs is no longer a target market for new keyboards, I
assume Apple keeps the logo on the Command key for branding purposes,
but I really wish they wouldn't. I wish they'd put the word "Command"
on the front of the Command key to help make the name of the key
clearer.
