When I installed URL Access 2.3, the URL Access Scripting osax remained at
version 2.2.1. The URL Access 2.3 installer that was posted to the Apple
Software Updates site on February 27 does not contain a new version of the
osax, which therefore remains at Mac OS 9.1's version 2.2.1.
I just received my new PowerBook G4 (Titanium), and I find that it includes
a new URL Access Scripting 2.3 osax. The osax is dated February 1, 2001 and
is described as part of "Mac OS CPU Software 3.2". The dictionary is
unchanged from 2.2.1.
The new version of the osax is also on the Mac OS 9.1 full install CD that
came with the Titanium. This is version "1.2" of the 9.1 CD, which
reportedly replaces version 1.1 and ships with the newest Mac hardware.
I don't know what, if any, changes have been made in URL Access Scripting
2.3, but it would seem that Apple should make it more readily available --
especially in light of recent reports of problems scripting URL Access in
Mac OS 9.1. Perhaps it will show up shortly.
