I know the script in essential subroutines. But the script can't encode
2 bytes characters (e.g. Japanese). One of AppleScript's defect is that
AppleScript can't recognize second byte of 2 bytes character. (And
can't tell character and byte). That's why I made many osax whose function
you don't need and you can get a plain vanilla AS solution as far as you
are in 1 byte character world.
