All in all, I've never heard of anyone hacking program linking.
+-
I am interested in knowing how dangerous it is for me to have a mac behind a firewall (D-Link 704) and having program linking on with no password?
Is it possible at all to get to the mac through the firewall, other than the intended port 80 for web service (which the firewall directs to that computer)? The machine in question (the web server) is running 8.1, so I would have expected that it can't be program linked at all via TCP/IP(?)
Later, I would like to be able to access my main computer (9.1) through the firewall, but this time, of course, with a long password. I know that nobody can guarantee anything, but maybe you have an opinion how safe you think that is?
In both the above cases, I am concerned not only about intrusions, but also simply crashing/hanging the machines is bad enough, since they both regularly run scripts.
Curiously,
