Getting a monitor to exit sleep from an AppleScript on OS X.2

Hi everyone,

I apologise if this is an old problem. I am trying to wake up the monitor on my iMac using AppleScript within OS X.2. I am having no end of hassles doing this and don't really want to rely on other third party applications (though they do exist and they do the job well but I am trying to integrate into a larger application). I would ideally like to control the system sleep and wakeup using applescript entirely but if this cannot be done then no worries - the most important thing from my point of view is to be able to wake up the monitor from an applescript.

Any ideas anyone ?

Cheers

Russ Miles
