I entered this script in a BB Edit 6.5 document; selected it, and
choose "Get Result of Applescript" from the Script Editor sub menu of
the BBEdit menu:
display dialog "It works."
The Dock alerted me to make Script editor the front application, which
I did. I then clicked OK in the dialog, and the text in the BB Edit
document change to
{button returned:"OK"}
Side note: The menu command-key for "Get Result of Applescript" is
shown to be shift-command-*, but that is intercepted by PGP, to mean
"Sign." (Side note to side note: In mail.app, the key is shown as
command-*, which is really the same key combo.)
